Thunder Mountain Enterprises, Inc. was contracted
to install a series of Super Nails (patent pending) on Thomas
Road in San Benito County to fix a landslide. The county informed
Thunder Mountain Enterprises, Inc. that a traditional fix would
have cost them thousands more.
The objective of the Super Nail installation was to unload
the weight and pressure at the top of the slide to prevent
any further failure. This was achieved by installing a grid
pattern of nails on a three foot center. The nails where then
grouted with a steel rebar reinforcement placed in the middle.
Once the nails where complete a wire mesh shot Crete system
was then installed including a under lament drainage system.
Final tasks included installing storm water pollution BMPs.
Thunder Mountain Enterprises, Inc. was able to complete the
job within seven days to the complete satisfaction of Arman
Nazemi (armann@pw.co.san-benito.ca.us)
San Benito County Public Works.
